Your Auto Insurance Policy Does Not Cover Delivery

Our Covid experience is changing the way we live. How we socialize, consume products, and how we work is all evolving. The demand for having products delivered has never been greater. Before this crises you could have your pizza delivered, now the finest restaurants are doing it. Liquor stores are doing it, your new car can now be delivered to your door step.

The demand for someone to deliver these items is growing at the same pace but having the proper insurance coverage is not. Whether it is you, a family member or a friend… we all know someone that is doing some delivery. What might be unknown is that there are coverage exclusions for this on your Personal Auto Insurance policy.

The exclusion language in most policies read:
Liability arising out of the ownership or operation of a vehicle while it is being used as a public or livery conveyance.

The definition of Public or Livery Conveyance is:
The transporting of people and/or goods for hire.

It is important to know your policy. If needed, reach out to us for potential options
